Who is this course for?
GUIDED LEARNING HOURS RECOMMENDED BY CITY & GUILDS = 30-35 HOURS
This qualification was developed in conjunction with the electrical industry (including NICEIC and ECA) in order to meet the needs of the industry and centres to provide candidates with a basic introduction and starting point of how to inspect and test electrical installations in accordance with BS7671:2018. It is aimed at complete beginner's who have not carried out inspection and testing before. The course involves a substantial amount of practical training in our purpose built workshops and training facilities. Candidates seeking registration through one of the Part P scheme operators are advised to continue study through the level 3 courses as progression onto Initial Verification 2391-50 and/or 2391-51 Periodic Inspection/Condition Reporting or the new combined level 3 programme 2391-52.
Course description
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. It would be expected that candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of BS 7671:2018 , electrical science and principles. It would also be expected that candidates have experience of electrical installation work either within the electrical contracting industry or an allied trade.

2392-10 Test
Assessment
Candidates will be required to complete the following two assessments:
One 1.5 hour on-line multiple choice test covering outcomes 1-3 consisting of 50 questions (2392-101)
One practical assessment for the unit (2392-102)
Materials Required
All candidates will be provided with an extensive training materials written by the NICEIC/ELECSA.
All candidates are required to bring along a non-programmable scientific calculator and standard stationary. The course is designed to verify that candidates are fully familiar with the content and application of Guidance Note 3 published by the IET. The course deals with the fundamentals of inspection and testing installations only and does not enter the topics of periodic testing, commercial, industrial or three phase installations and condition reporting. These advanced topics are assessed during the level 3 courses, such as Initial Verification 2391-50 and Periodic Inspection 2391-51 which candidates can progress onto. All candidates are advised to obtain a copies of the following publication for reference throughout the course.

Entry Requirements
It would be expected that candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of BS 7671:2018, electrical science and principles. Therefore we advise completing the City & Guilds 2382-18 programme first.
