Whilst City & Guilds don't set any formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification,we as an approved centre require ALL candidates wishing to embark on this fast track APL programme to have successfully completed our:-

City & Guilds Domestic Electrician Training Programme - 2382-15, 2392-10, 2393-10, 6072-01, 2397-30, Electrical Science & Practical Training first http://www.morrisservices.co.uk/course/City-Guilds-Domestic-Electrician-Training-Programme. This involves meeting the requirements of the IET Minimum Technical Competency Requirements for a Domestic Electrician under Route 1 of the framework after completing the performance learning outcomes (NVQ Level 3) on the Level 3 Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installations in Dwellings (Electrical Qualified Supervisors) - City & Guilds 2397-30 for short contained within our Domestic Programme above.

The City & Guilds 2357-13 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment Fast Track APL Route has been developed by us to support mature candidates who are self funding and wish to pursue/develop career opportunities within commercial/industrial sectors as well as being a Electrical Qualified Supervisor under Approved Document P of the Building Regulations through a CPS such as the NICEIC,ELECSA,NAPIT etc by fully meeting the Joint Industry Board criteria for Electrician Grade (Gold Card). This Route meets:-

When our City & Guilds 2395-01 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations is completed afterwards.

We must ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully SummitSkills, the SSC, expects candidates to undertake the ‘knowledge’ units within this qualification, before undertaking the equivalent occupational performance unit, to ensure the candidate has all of the knowledge and skills required to attempt to demonstrate their skills in the workplace. For example, the expectation is that a candidate should achieve 2357-601 before undertaking 2357-311. Specific details regarding which ‘knowledge’ units must be undertaken before the ‘performance’ units are undertaken are found in the ‘notes for guidance’ for each unit. The Electrotechnical Occupational Competence (AM2) (2357-399) must not be undertaken before the learner has demonstrated sufficient technical expertise, knowledge, skill and maturity.
